No. Lady Liberty’s name is not Morgan. George T. Morgan was the designer of the Morgan Silver Dollar, which is considered to be the King of silver dollars.
The Morgan Dollar was minted between the years 1878 and 1904 and once again in 1921. Morgan designed both sides of the coin, one side featuring Lady Liberty and an Eagle holding olive branch and arrows on the other.
The coin is made of 90% silver, and wasn’t really popular at the time. Of course, it was heavy and bulky and nobody wanted to carry them around in their pockets. The eagle was also considered to be ugly and unappealing. But today, the Morgan Dollar is the most coveted coin for all coin collectors.
Now the king of American Silver Dollars, is available in a coin set of 6 different dates or mint marks. The 6 BU Morgan Silver Dollar set consists of brilliant uncirculated bright silver Morgan Dollars and is admirably displayed in a Dansco Supreme Album.
