Susan Brownell Anthony was an American civil rights activist, and leader of the 19th century women’s rights movements. In 1979, the United States minted a Susan B. Anthony dollar coin, which depicted the brave women’s suffrage campaigner.
The coin had a relatively short life span, mostly because of its problematic design. With respect to the Apollo 11, there is an 11-sided rim border on both sides of the coin. Along with the dollar’s color it came to be very similar to the circulated quarter and many people where mistaking the Susan B. dollar with the 25 cents coin.
A complete 32 coin set of the short lived BU and Proof Eisenhower Dollars magnificently displayed in a Dansco Supreme Album. Many of the low mintage coins are increasingly difficult to find in these premium conditions.
